Millennials get a really bad rap when it comes to work motivation, drive, and diligence. But almost every one of my friends has some kind of side job or hustle on top of their full-time job. Babysitting, dog-sitting, dog-walking, blogging, tennis lessons, tutoring, cosmetology services, craigslist selling, poshmarking…the list goes on. That’s cool. And that makes me proud to be a millennial. When I think about my blogging side hustle, I laugh at the idea of me actually going up to someone and handing them a business card. But if I met someone who was genuinely interested, I would absolutely give them one! And that’s why I am so glad that Basic Invite reached out to me to design business cards online for my blog.

Designing with Basic Invite

Have you heard of Basic Invite? Basic Invite is a Utah based printing company that specializes in truly custom invitations, announcements, stationery, business cards (marble business cards too!), and a lot more. A few years working in marketing and I have become the family graphic designer, invitation maker, announcement creator, and paper printer. I have cycled through pretty much all of the websites that you have likely already heard of and used to find the easiest process for designing and ordering invitations, Christmas cards, and save the dates. I’ve exhausted them all.

But today I am happy to be sharing with you my seamless experience designing with Basic Invite. Next party I host, they are top of my list to use. Here are my top three take-away points from my experience before I dive into the process of designing on their website:

  • Color selection is abundant and it is so easy to physically see the colors you are choosing and how they will look in print.
  • The user interface is so easy to navigate and understand, for anyone. Even a beginner!
  • You don’t have to be a designer to figure this out. They have pages of design templates that you can customize for your own event, greeting card, or business card. But if you are design savvy, you can upload your logos and designs and place them in very easily.

10 Easy Steps to Designing Your Basic Invite Business Cards

  1. Select Business Cards under the Stationery category on the Basic Invite homepage.
  2. Peruse their large selection of pre-designed templates and custom templates.
  3. Select one! That will take the most amount of your time.
  4. Edit the text by clicking on the boxes on the right. You can change the fonts, size, and color of the text.
  5. Change colors of the background or designs on the front.
  6. Don’t forget to edit the back of your business card as well. It is simple to toggle back and forth from the front to back to edit.
  7. Select to order a free sample of the item before putting in a full order. (I have never seen this option before!)
  8. Select your quantity and paper type.
  9. Review all the details on your order for any typos.
  10. Wait for your beautiful cards to arrive within 2 weeks!

If you are starting a business, getting married, hosting a party, announcing a baby, in need of beautiful desk stationery, or thinking ahead to Christmas cards, you can use code 15FF51 for 15% off your order.
