Hi everyone and welcome to my brand new blog! My name is Christianna Jo Evans, but my friends call me Jo or JoJo. I’m 25 years old and I live at home outside of Philadelphia with the best roommates, Mom & Dad. I graduated from Gettysburg College 3 years ago and I am now the Marketing Manager at an architecture firm in the City of Brotherly Love. I’m in a long distance relationship with my college sweetheart, Cameron, who is the leading role in the story behind the name of my blog. I have a really cool big sister named Allie, who is married to Les, and they are expecting a baby boy in the new year! Allie runs her own home decor blog, which documents how beautifully she and Les have transformed a South Philly row ‘house’ into a home for their growing family.

As the daughters of an interior designer and a construction whiz, our home was and is a constant source of creativity and inspiration, filled with new projects and an ever-evolving design. Normal life consists of ideas drawn on napkins that are always whipped right up in the workshop, family trips to flea markets and antique stores, and lots and lots of swerving for trash finds to be transformed into treasures.

I’ve always had a love for design and creativity and I see firsthand how my family uses those gifts to bless others. The idea of starting my own blog has been on my heart for quite some time. I, too, have inspiration to share, but it’s scary to embark on something new and I’ve felt insecure and under-qualified. In the midst of my doubt, while dreaming this all up, Cameron sent me a devotional that spoke to my insecurities. “A fear of failure can prevent us from saying yes to the Lord. Carrying out God’s will requires a heart that trusts Him, a soul that steps out in obedience, and a mind that leaves success or failure to Him.” So let’s get this thing going!

If all this is old news to you, here are some funny things maybe you didn’t know about me:

  1. The very first gift Cam ever gave me was a living, breathing, floppy-eared bunny that I named LuLu. LuLu lived under my bed all of senior year of college as an illegal roommate.
  2. I have danced since age 3 and last year I auditioned for the Rockettes. Although I didn’t make it, it was one of the coolest things I have ever set out to do and I feel as though I am now a part of the ‘leggy legacy’.
  3. I trained for and completed a sprint triathlon the summer after I graduated from college. At the start of training, I could barely run a mile (read: lots of hyperventilating and tears), but I finished alongside my best friend (also a girl named Jo) and my mom.
  4. I love being with people, going to new places, throwing parties, covering my room with plants, and exploring photography. I hope that you enjoy this journey that I have started here. Comments of encouragement and topic inspiration are very welcome!

xoxo,
