Making Time During the Holidays with JORD Wood Watches

If you know me, you know that I secretly listen to Christmas music in the summer, cover my room with Christmas decorations and lights at the first sign of cold weather (and leave them up until it’s warm), and turn into Mrs. Claus from November to February. I am a Christmas fanatic. I love participating in all things Christmas, whether it’s holiday work events, cookie exchanges, or beautiful Christmas light shows. But what I really love about Christmas is the traditions that have been created with my family. This is what I love making time for, repeating long-standing traditions and making new ones with those I love.

There’s the annual cookie making day with my mom and sister, fancy Christmas dinner with the whole family in Philadelphia, walking through the lights on 13th Street in the city, eating Swedish food on Christmas Eve, and Polish food on Christmas Day, drinking champagne on Christmas morning, and gifting meaningful treasures to each member of the family. I could go on, but this is what is most important to me.

Not On My Watch

When JORD Wood Watches reached out to me to review their wooden watches this holiday season, I couldn’t resist. Their mission statement mirrors my sentiments about the holidays and what I find to be most important.

The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.

I chose my watch from the Fieldcrest series and opted for the Zebrawood & Maple model. I picked this beauty because of its natural look and versatility in matching with all types of colors and textures. My first impression was, wow! If this was a present, I wood-n’t even have to wrap it! The wood watch comes in a beautiful wooden box, accompanied by a cleaning cloth, extra links for sizing, a pen for preserving the wood, and a little pillow for it to sleep on.

The face of the watch is truly stunning and I love the ease of the clasp. I can actually put this on myself with one hand. This women’s watch is very light on my wrist, not bothersome or clumsy at all. This feature is really important as I do most of my work in front of a computer and don’t like clunky bracelets and watches as I type. The watch is made of 100% natural, hand-finished woods with a wood veneer dial and stainless accents. The face is made of scratch resistant mineral glass for added protection as you go about your day.
