A few weeks ago my parents hosted a beautiful baby shower for my sister and brother-in-law, Allie and Les. They are expecting their first little baby boy in January and we just cannot wait! They decided on a co-ed baby shower so that both of the future parents could be honored with all of their friends and family around them. I can’t take any credit for the genius behind the gorgeous house, decorations, and food; that is all my mom and dad. I did help a lot though, so that’s gotta rack up the points, right?

I wanted to share with you all the details of the wonderful celebration we had at our family’s headquarters 😉 We had an evening party in October and the weather was perfect. We were able to have everyone inside and outside, with the fire pit going and a perfect temperature to be outside. The nursery is already an under-the-sea theme so we decided to stick to ocean animals for the theme of the party. The center piece of the kitchen was the most adorable octopus stuffed animal made by Big Stuffed. We are addicted to these cutie guys and there will be a few of them swimming around the nursery.

We served three types of sangria and a selection of beer, for those who aren’t preggo. My mom and I made all of the appetizers that consisted of a cheese and meat board, a variety of pierogis, pigs in a blanket, and a lot of other delicious savory treats to pick on. We got the bulk of dinner catered and luckily ended up with a ton of leftovers, which we will be eating until the baby is 5 years old.

My favorite part of the party was the dessert table. The cake is the cutest thing ever, made by Sweet Melissa. Her cakes are incredible pieces of art and taste amazing too. We also had chocolate covered pretzels (my favorite), chocolate covered oreos, decorated sugar cookies, and mini cupcakes.

Everyone was just so generous in their gift giving. Allie and Les received so many thoughtful gifts and totally in their style. The best was seeing Allie open all the things my mom, future grandma, knit for the baby including a pom pom baby blanket, hat, sweater, and a knitted polar bear rug. But also peep this bunny hat that I knit for the little peanut. Take a look at the selection of photos below to see more of the magical night!
